And that is a team other than Bridgewater sitting on top of the ladder.
Newbridge holds top spot on the ladder after last Saturday’s opening round of 2017.
The Maroons are the first team other than Bridgewater to sit on top of the ladder since round three, 2014.
From round four, 2014 to round 18, 2016, the Mean Machine spent a remarkable 51 consecutive ladders in top spot.
However, that run was broken last Saturday when they were on the end of one of the biggest shock results in the LVFNL of modern times when the reigning premiers were beaten by last year’s wooden-spooners, Bears Lagoon-Serpentine, by 21 points, putting Bridgewater in seventh position.
In the wake of the upset result, Bridgewater has drifted from $1.55 to $2.50 in Sportsbet’s LVFNL flag market, while the Bears have shortened from $101 to $34.
