A mother will face court after allegedly recording a blood alcohol concentration six times the legal limit while supervising a learner driver.
Bendigo Highway Patrol encountered the 21-year-old driver and his 43-year-old mum in Golden Square at 9.50pm on Saturday.
Sergeant Geoff Annand said the driver returned a positive reading on a preliminary breath test, but refused to comply with a request for further testing.
The man will be charged on summons with refusing to accompany police for a breath test.
His mother, who was his accompanying driver, also returned a positive reading on a preliminary breath test.
She subsequently recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.305.
Sergeant Annand said the woman would be charged with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol as an accompanying driver.
She was bailed to front court later this week.
