Adelaide had no answer to the Magpies' goal shooter.
Thwaites didn’t miss a goal until the third quarter, by which time her side already had the competition points in its keeping.
The Diamonds shooter finished the afternoon with 46 goals from 47 shots after providing the Magpies with a strong target both at the post and from mid-range.
After an inconsistent first three weeks of the season, Collingwood showed why it was so highly-reagrded with a 64-45 thrashing of the Thunderbirds.
Thwaites light-heartedly lamented her only missed shot.
"I think it was just a little brain fade, I think it might have been an air ball too," she said.
Thwaites’ 46 goals was one goal shy of her season high.
"We're trying to grow all of our connections on the court ... so if you're having a good game (personally), and you're still losing (on the score board) then it's not a good game for me," she said.
Fellow Bendigo product Chloe Watson also enjoyed success at the weekend after the Melbourne Vixens defeated the West Coast Fever 56-45.
Watson started on the bench, but played well in defence when she got her opportunity.
