UPDATE 8.50am: Police are on scene directing traffic and a CFA spokeswoman confirmed the house is now “fully involved”, with crews fighting the blaze from inside the building.
“We’ve got firefighters there doing an internal attack of the fire, so they’re in breathing apparatus and they’re inside the house knocking down the flames,” she said.
There are now five fire trucks on scene.
EARLIER: Fire crews are responding to a house fire in Macedon this morning.
A Country Fire Authority spokeswoman said firefighters were called to the corner of Douglas and Mount Macedon roads at about 8.20am and the house appeared to be well alight.
She said two trucks were on scene with another two on the way.
