The band’s debut album, Love and Other Monsters, features the single 1851 which is written about the Castlemaine area and the Australian gold rush.
Love and Other Monsters was funded, recorded, produced and released by the band. It took the band two years of live performances to finance the album.
They formed in 2013 and have since developed their own unique blend of blues, grunge, southern rock and funk.
Central Victoria is a popular stop off for Smoke Stack Rhino who have played two Bendigo Blues and Roots Festivals since forming.
Smoke Stack Rhino are touring Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania to promote their debut album.
The “Goldfields” leg includes performances in in Ballarat on February 17 and at the Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine on February 18.
