BENDIGO East Swimming Club will be among the best represented teams at the 2017 Victorian Country Swimming Championships in Sale this weekend.

The club will have 38 swimmers competing at the three-day championships, to be held at the Lex Glover Aquatic Centre, starting on Friday.
The championships are the first to be held in Gippsland since 2013.
Coach John Jordan said that the team was looking to perform well after months of training and preparation.
"This is an exciting time for the club with such a large number of swimmers attending, some for the very first time," he said.
"All swimmers have prepared themselves well with the assistance of fellow coaches Chris Geyer, Anne Sherman Val Campbell and Kate Jordan."
The club had five swimmers – Layla Day, Kate Jordan, Katerina Pizzo, Cameron Jordan and Kiara Verbeek. - contest this month’s Victorian Open Swimming Championships.
The team comprises: Matthew Baxter, Olivia Boef, Hunter Boswell, Maggie Burke, Layla Day, Ella Downing, Harry Downing, Veda Haines, Holly Hawke, Thomas Hawke, Emma Hindson, Hayley Jacobsen, Liam Jacobsen, Tyson Jelbart, Cameron Jordan, Kate Jordan, James Kealy, Emily Kearns, Nicholas Kearns, Lily-May Kirby, Alyssa Lai, Zalli Lau, Ziggy Lau, Harry McKern, Lincoln McKern, Nathan McKern, Aimee McMahon, Halena Morgan, Xavier Morrissey, Claudia Mountjoy, Gus Nankervis, Varlee Nihill, Tahlee O’Keefe, Bryce Schubert, Kiara Verbeek, Georgia Waller, Sophie Waller and Charlie Whitsed.
