Freight trains can now operate at 30km/h when tempeartures reach 33 degrees. Previously the trains couldn’t run on hot days between midday and 8pm or 10pm.
Lines affected are between Dunolly and Birchip on the Mildura line, and between Echuca and Deniliquin. V/Line is meeting weekly with freight operators with advice and developments.
