That’s the premise on which the city’s Summer in the Parks program rests.
Despite the temperature tipped to top 38 degrees on Sunday, cyclists still mulled in the Rosalind Park piazza, albeit at an earlier time of 9am.
Tour guides also met at the visitor information centre to show history buffs around town.
Guide Barbara Poustie said it was not only out-of-town guests eager to learn stories from Bendigo’s past.
“People come into Specimen Cottage and say, ‘I’ve lived here all my life and never been in’,” she said.
Sunday morning tours are planned to continue through until April.
