The get together at the Kokoro Kai club's Goornong dojo gave students an opportunity to share their skills and learn from different instructors.
Formed in 2010 by Shihan Peter Jackson, Kansho Allan Guymer and Shihan Robert Graham, the style encompasses the traditional values of respect and discipline along with modern techniques.
It is suitable for all ages because of its emphasis on effective technique as opposed to brute strength.
One of the Goornong dojo students, Hamish Johnson, recently became a regional champions for single kata boys 12-13 years old 10-5th kyu at the Victorian Regional Karate Championships, after competing in three tournaments
Another milestone at Goornong is student David Nicholas being awarded the rank of Shodan-ho (adult black belt) last weekend.
