Star midfielder Adam Baird will play with Wodonga Raiders in the Ovens and Murray Football League next year, while Che Walls has signed with Tatura in the Goulburn Valley Football League.
Baird and Walls’ departure comes on top of the retirement of club great Simon Rosa and the exit of Victoria Country representative Chris Ryan (Tatura).
Baird is a major loss for the Bulldogs and new coach Bernie Haberman.
The goal kicking midfielder was one of the stars of the competition in 2016.
He polled 15 votes to be equal fourth in the Michelsen Medal and played in the BFNL’s inter-league win over Gippsland.
Baird is presently playing football in Darwin with Nightcliff in the Northern Territory Football League.
The Tigers are on top of the ladder after seven rounds and Baird has played a key role in their undefeated run.
He’s kicked eight goals in seven games and been in the club’s best players five times.
2015 Michelsen Medal winner Brodie Filo is also at Nightcliff, but his season has been hampered by an ankle injury and he’s only played one game.
Filo has also been linked with a move to Wodonga Raiders next season.
