New traffic lights, new street lights and pedestrian and cyclist facilities will be installed at the intersection of Edwards Road and Marong Road.
Constructions starts on Monday.
Edwards Road traffic will be detoured via Smith Street during the works, which are expected to take about 16 weeks.

“The intersection is one of Maiden Gully’s busiest and has also been the scene of a number of accidents involving traffic making turns to and from Edwards Road, particularly during peak periods,” VicRoads regional director Mal Kersting said.
“Please observe the changed traffic conditions including work zone speed limits, for your own safety, the safety of other road users and the safety of our workers.”
