Bendigo Community Bingo Centre manager Kelly Creely said it was the first time the woman, who asked not to be named, had played at the local bingo hall.
“She’s only just moved to Bendigo from Melbourne,” Ms Creely said.
“She said she’d been nagging her husband to play and it was her first night in our bingo centre.
“She felt bad for the people that play here regularly, taking the win away from them, but it’s a great achievement for someone in Bendigo to win.” The game was played through a link system with other bingo centres in Victoria and was the third time in two years the $10,000 has been won locally.
“Number 30 was the number she won on,” Ms Creely said. “She was shaken when the number came up and couldn’t play the next game. She’s still in a lot of disbelief.
“She’s just bought a caravan and she’s going to use the money to do that up.”
To top off the win, the woman also took out the $200, in-house prize.
