REMEMBERING the hidden toll facing Victoria’s police members was the focus of this year’s Blue Ribbon National Police Remembrance Day.
The Bendigo District RSL was packed with officers, families, friends and those paying their respects on Thursday morning.

Former Superintendent of Bendigo police Peter Bull was the guest speaker at the 2016 event, speaking of the work being undertaken to ensure the mental health of police officers is front of mind at all times.
He said there was never a riskier time to be a police member, and urged officers to support each other.
Wreaths were laid to end the ceremony, which paid tribute to the 22 serving Victoria Police members who died in the last 12 months.
