The City of Greater Bendigo is still determining the extent of widespread damage caused to local roads by localised flooding last week.
The city’s manager of works Rachelle Quattrocchi said while it appeared some roads had sustained damage, it was still too early to say what the cost of repairs would be.
“City works staff are still out and about inspecting the areas that experienced flooding issues and assessing any damage that has resulted from the water,” she said.
“The investigations will take place over the next few weeks in an effort to determine the extent of works required to repair flood damage.”
“The city was kept busy with requests and phone calls to respond to localised flooding and has put in place road closures. The safety of our residents is a priority and our works staff are continuing to monitor areas of concern.”
Roads in Bendigo closed due to flood damage are:
- Yumah Road in Lockwood South.
- Gordons Road between Airstrip Road and the Loddon Valley Highway in Woodvale.
- Ma's Lane between Harris Road and McKenzie Road and O’Sullivans Road between McKenzie Road and Cemetery Road in Marong.
