The Storm rallied from a 17-point half-time deficit to overrun the Roos 11.4 (70) to 9.3 (57).
Wade Kinniburgh and Edward Hyett were the stars for the Storm, who now have a slight chance of finishing second and gaining the double chance.
Sandhurst Marist Dockers continued their outstanding form by beating Kyneton by 76 points. Peter Coghlan, Sean O’Farrell and Cooper Saunders were the standouts for the Dockers. James O’Sullivan, Liam Carlile and Calvin Leiper battled hard for the Tigers.
Fourth-placed Golden Square defeated South Bendigo by 47 points.
Lachy Dillon’s six goals was the standout performance in the 14.14 (98) to 7.9 (51) victory. Justyn Sawyer and Cam Anderson also played well for the Dogs. Will Allen and Erasmus Koska were best for the Bloods.
In the under-14 seniors, top team Golden Square thrashed third-placed White Hills by 89 points. Zavier Murley bagged seven goals for the Dogs and Cody Anderson was superb. Ben Hickman and David Carter were best for the Demons.
Second-placed Sandhurst defeated South Bendigo by 70 points, with Joel Bothe and Matt Carroll impressive. Issac Carracher and Jackson Hufer tried hard for South.
Trey Green’s six goals led Strathfieldsaye to a 147-point win over Kangaroo Flat. Jake Lyons and Blake Harris were best for the Roos.
Kyneton scored a hard-fought 21-point win over Eaglehawk. Liam Muir continued his good form for the Tigers, while Eaglehawk was well served by James O’Connell.
The closest game of the under-12A round was St Therese’s 15-point win over Castlemaine. Toby Howlett and Ethan Hein were the best players for their respective clubs.
Top team Kyneton defeated the Storm by 128 points. Jack O’Sullivan kicked seven goals and Seb Morris was best. Campbell Tangey played well for the Storm.
Bailey Morton and Bailey Cain led Golden Square to a 35-point win over Eaglehawk. The Hawks’ best were Brodie Coombs and Blake McGregor.
The only close game in the youth girls division was Golden Square’s four-point win over North Bendigo. Keily Adamson and Sharni Barker were best for Square, while Toya Gahan and Paige Tate played well for North.
In the other two games, Castlemaine defeated South Bendigo by 175 points and Kangaroo Flat thumped Huntly by 127 points.
