Dragons Abreast Bendigo is hosting a come and try day on August 31 at Lake Weeroona.
Secretary Donna Harrison said the group consisted of breast cancer survivors and supporters, who enjoy the activity and the supportive team environment.
“We do go to regattas and travel all over Australia,” she said.
The group has about 25 members at the moment.
“We need 20 in the boat,” Mrs Harrison said.
Mrs Harrison said people did not have to be particularly fit to give dragon boating a go.
“You do it at your own pace, so if we’ve got new members we go back and start at a lower level again until people build up,” she said.
Dragons Abreast Bendigo was founded in 2002.
Mrs Harrison said partaking had been helpful for breast cancer recovery.
The come and try day starts at 5pm and is followed by champagne and nibbles.
