The 11-year-old Invermay Park resident may even be Ballarat’s biggest emoji collector.
Laura is the proud owner of emoji pillows, pyjamas, backpacks, cups, pins, a phone case, tops, leggings, shoes, slippers, magnets and an umbrella.
“My friends like emojis too but they always call me the emoji lover or the emoji queen,” she said.
Laura has now been collecting emoticon merchandise for a year – just in time for World Emoji Day, which is celebrated annually on July 17.
She said her favourite emoji was the face that was laughing so hard it was crying, and loved using emoticons in place of words.
She received the same set of emoji pyjamas three times from different people for her birthday, so her nan turned the spares into an emoji dress.
Laura’s mum Susie Jolly said her daughter’s hobby was “quite expensive” but a lot of fun.
