An open day this Sunday at the Truscott Reserve stadium will be a chance to promote the league and answer any questions derby hopefuls might have.
The event kicks-off at 4.30pm, with a game between our two home teams, the Rolling Dead and the Slamurais, followed by an information session at 5.30pm.
Dragon City Derby Dolls vice-president Allison 'Library Fine' Hadfield said it was a chance for anyone who has had an interest in roller derby and thought about giving it a go to have their chance.
"Led by one of our fantastic accredited coaches, Kate ‘KT KO’ Smith, the intake program runs one day a week for 12 weeks and all equipment is provided by the league," she said.
"People of any gender and level of skating experience welcome.
"We will teach you all the basic skills to get you started on your derby adventure.
