The Blues are sitting in sixth place on the HDFNL ladder – one game and percentage behind fifth-placed Elmore.
“We’ve had a horror run with injuries since round two, but the upside of that has been we’ve blooded some young players,’’ Filo said.
“The young players have done a great job, but expecting them to play consistent footy is a challenge.
“We can challenge the top teams when we all click on the same day. We don’t have the same margin for error as the top teams because we don’t have our best team on the park.
“Huntly is in terrific form, but we go into every game thinking we can win.”
The Hawks are flying at the moment. They’ve won five of their past six matches and built their percentage to the point they are on top of the ladder ahead of Leitchville-Gunbower and North Bendigo.
Leitchville-Gunbower will be looking to jump the Hawks when it plays White Hills at Tint-A-Car Oval.
The Bombers will be looking to emulate their 18-goal thumping of the Demons in round four.
Fourth-placed Colbinabbin can’t afford to take fifth-placed Elmore lightly when they meet at Colbo on Saturday. The Grasshoppers have lost two of their past three matches and the one win was an unconvincing win over Heathcote.
The bottom two teams LBU and Heathcote clash at Lockington.
