The website promotes the town as a place for visitors to stop, shop and explore.
It has also been designed with the needs of residents, and potential residents, in mind.
The Elmore Progress Association launched the site on Thursday, about eight months after the idea was included in the Elmore Community Plan.
Project co-ordinator and association committee member Meg Doller said about 50 people attended.
“So far we have had amazing feedback,” she said.
“We’re excited about our ability to regularly present new content and continue to develop the site to ensure it is a space that is both user-friendly and relevant into the future.”
In addition to creating the website, Epsom-based company Thrive Web Design will host a training session for association members so they are confident and capable of keeping it up-to-date.
“As a community, Elmore identified the need to establish a coordinated online presence that markets the town and showcases events, activities and opportunities to a wider audience,” Miss Doller said.
“The plan was to have everything in one spot.”
The project had a working budget of $4000, contributed by the Elmore Progress Association with support from Elmore groups and businesses.
A range of promotional cards and bumper stickers bearing the slogan, “Elmore: Small town, big heart” have been released in conjunction with the website launch.
