FORMER Bendigo Spirit star Belinda Snell has joined Big V team Diamond Valley.
The 35-year-old, who was was cut from the Opals squad for Rio earlier this year, debuted for the Eagles against Big V women's championship rivals Waverley a fortnight ago.
She scored 22 points and had nine rebounds and three assists in her team's 72-48 win against Eltham on the weekend.
Snell parted ways with the Spirit at the end of the 2015-16 WNBL season.
The three-time Olympian and world championship silver medallist averaged 15 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists last season for the Spirit.
The forward-guard, who is a four-time WNBL All Star Five selection, played her 250th league game against the Townsville Fire during last season.
She hopes to continue in the WNBL next season.
Snell represented Australia at the 2004 Athens Olympics (silver medal), Beijing 2008 (silver) and London 2012 (bronze).
