After touring Greece with a national squad last year and being selected to play for the Australian under-16 squad in Brazil this November, Baker was this month named in the Australian under-16 team to play in the prestigious Pacific Cup in the United States in July.
Baker and Australia’s best junior futsal players will take on the best Mexico, Canada and the United States has to offer in a week-long tournament in San Jose.
Japan, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and New Zealand have also been invited to the carnival.
With the Bendigo futsal season played over summer, Baker is preparing for the overseas trips by training with the Gol Brasil futsal academy on a weekly basis.
He’s also an accomplished soccer player, representing Bendigo City FC under-16s in the National Premier League Victoria competition.
Last weekend Baker made his debut in the under-20 Bendigo City FC side where he set up a goal in the 2-0 victory over Werribee.
