Dorothy Pye told the Bendigo Advertiser last night that she was “still in shock” after taking out the morning television Sunrise Cash Call competition.
Ms Pye received the call shortly after 7.30am.
She said never in her wildest dreams did she expect Sunrise hosts David Kosh and Melissa Doyle to be on the other end.
“It was just a short call to say that I had won,” she said. “There was a lot of background noise in the phone call and it all happened so quickly.
“I just remember hearing Mel’s voice.
“It was just so amazing – I’m lost for words.”
Ms Pye needed to answer her phone within five rings to claim the money after calling in with the daily codeword on Wednesday.
But she did it within two in what was only the second time she had entered.
“Someone must be looking after me!” she said.
Ms Pye said instead of spending the money on a holiday, she planned to use her winnings to complete renovations on her home.
“First things first.”??
