Emergency services were alerted to the incident at a residential address in Ascot about 3.30pm.
Bendigo police said the man had been working on a car in his garage when the vehicle rolled off the axle stand.
The man, in his 40s, was freed and transported to Bendigo Health in a serious but stable condition.
He was later transferred to Melbourne by air ambulance and was admitted to The Alfred about 10.30pm on Saturday.
An Alfred Health spokeswoman said on Tuesday the man remained in a critical but stable condition.
