The fun-filled week kicked off yesterday with Cemetery Trust tours and an Old Time Tea Dance.
The Bendigo East Progress Hall was abuzz with activity yesterday afternoon as about couples kicked up their heels for the Pride of Erin, Charmaine, and Maxina.
Today’s events will include the State Trustees Country Concert Series at The Capital theatre at 1.30pm, a cuppa and chat at the Bendigo Life Activities Club and a Veterans Tennis Tournament at the Coca Cola Complex.
This week’s calendar of events also features a Zumba Gold Class at Z Fit Studios at 1.30pm on Wednesday and a free cooking demonstration on Friday.
Minister for Ageing David Davis yesterday opened the 2012 Victorian Seniors Festival, which is now in its 30th year.
“There aren’t many festivals that have a history as long as this one and today is a wonderful opportunity to thank the community groups at the heart of the festival’s longevity over 30 years,” Mr Davis said.
The festival’s 120-page program is available at all Coles stores, libraries, council offices, neighbourhood houses, University of the Third Age offices and Life Activity Victoria clubs.
