Elmore Event Centre’s Sam Shotton said the 49th holding of the event was a resounding success.
“The crowds were equal to last year, the weather was fantastic; we couldn’t have asked for anything better,” she said.
Ms Shotton said exhibitors had reported strong inquiries and there were no seats left at the Ag Art Wear final.
Ms Shotton said that after three years of trying to secure a heat at Elmore, the Telstra Road to Discovery music competition was a particular success.
“Having John (Lingard) as a local winner adds to its triumph,” she said.
Ms Shotton also thanked the 500 volunteers who gave their time to manage the event.
Event organisers are already looking forward to next year’s big 50th anniversary celebrations. “We want to make sure everyone is back for the 50th,” Ms Shotton said.
She urged anyone with memorabilia, photos or programs from previous field days to get in touch with organisers.
“Maybe there’s an exhibitor out there who came to the first field day. We’d love to hear from them.”
