The band scored a spot on the festival line-up when they were announced as the GTM Bendigo Triple J Unearthed competition winners.
Band frontman Jack Kennedy was lost for words at the announcement.
“I’ve grown playing music since I was young and never thought I hear my band played on national radio. I’m just soaking it in,” Kennedy said.
“I’ve been to Groovin a few times. (Being on stage) will be a strange feeling. We are really looking forward whole day especially getting out on stage. I’m not sure how it feel.”
Jack and the Kids formed in 2014 and released their debut EP, Treasures, in April last year and have been preparing to put out a new EP later this year.
“In the last six months we started on our next lot of songs and released our latest single (Real Again) last Monday,” Kennedy said.
Three more spots on the line-up will go to local bands. They will be announced next week.
