Defending a small total of 182, the Vics bowled the reigning champs out for 157. Bendigo’s Adam Ward was the hero for Vic Country, taking the final three wickets to finish with 3-25 off 17.5 overs.
Meanwhile, Bendigo’s under-16 and under-14 teams enjoyed wins over Seymour at junior country week on Tuesday. The under-16s bowled Seymour out for 62, with Jack Bourke taking 3-9 and Jackson Davie 2-6.
Bendigo then smashed 4-165 off 20 overs. Daniel Clohesy made 59 not out off 30 balls, James Ryan 54 off 41 and Zane Keighran 39 off 30.
Bendigo must defeat Murray Valley at White Hills on Wednesday to advance to Thursday’s final at Tallarook.
The under-14s had few troubles in reeling in Seymour’s total of 9-83. Noah Begg took three wickets for Bendigo. The under-14s also must beat Murray Valley at Dower Park on Wednesday to make the grand final.
