Groom: Luke Hutchins
Wedding date: December 13
The meeting: We met at high school. We began dating when we were 15 and in year 10 at Flora Hill Secondary College. We went from never having met each other, to having several classes together and getting to know each other.
The proposal: Luke proposed while on a four month trip to Europe. We were in Switzerland and we had gone on a hike through the Swiss Alps. After having a picnic in a beautiful valley of waterfalls, Luke got on one knee and pulled out a stunning ring.
The wedding day: We tied the knot at Big Hill Winery. We each had four members in the bridal party including my sisters Kel, Stacey and Kristie as well as my best friend Sarah. Luke had his friends Brad and Damien as well as my brother Matthew and brother-in-law Rowden. Our theme was 'rustic romantic' which included a lot of soft colours. All of our decorations were done by Miranda at Eternal Vase. She did a fabulous job.
The dress: My dress was from Bendigo Bridal Collections and it was a 'Cizzy Bridal' gown. It was a boatneck style with gorgeous lace. It originally had a lot of tulle around the skirt but we had this removed to make it look less 'puffy'. It also had a stunning train which was not well suited to the winery. By the end of the day, there was dirt, grass, kangaroo poo and even grasshoppers in the gown!
The cake: It was three tier with royal icing from Cakewalk Bendigo.
The photographer: Lisa Nankervis Photography
The honeymoon: Turkey and Greece
