Percy has been charged with conduct endangering life, threats to kill and criminal damage after allegedly threatening to kill Castlemaine police members with a crossbow during a three-hour stand off on Tuesday night.
UPDATE: The man who took to Castlemaine streets allegedly brandishing a crossbow and allegedly threatening to kill local police will appear before Bendigo Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon.
The 44-year-old man was arrested overnight and faces charges of conduct endangering life, threats to kill, and causing criminal damage.
EARLIER: A man who was touting a crossbow and arrow in the Castlemaine CBD has been arrested after a dramatic stand off with police on Tuesday evening.
The public alerted police to the man, in his 40s, after he was seen armed with a crossbow around 4.30pm.
Police negotiated with the man for several hours as he oscillated around Hargraves Street, Forest Street and Duke Street in a vehicle and on foot.
Around 7.40pm, the man walked into the Castlemaine police station, lowered his crossbow onto the floor and was placed under arrest.
Victoria Police report the man is currently undergoing medical assessment.
No one was injured in the incident.
