Organisers anticipate this Saturday’s craft beer event will be the biggest yet, with entries capped due to high interest.
Bendigo Beer co-founder Trev Birks said they had been overwhelmed with inquiries.
“This is our third competition in 16 months and we’re astounded at how quickly the quality of entries has improved, as well as the interest by the beer-loving public,” he said.
The event will feature a tasting component, which will allow punters to vote for their favourite brew.
Bendigo Beer co-founder Justin McPhail said the city’s attitude to beer was changing, with more local venues and drinkers seeking out taste and variety.
Mr McPhail said a vast selection of beer styles would be available from around the world, including American Pale Ales, Belgian Tripels, Black IPAs and even a Chocolate Stout.
“This event is just another extension of the groundswell of support for craft beer in Bendigo – it’s terrific.”
The event starts at 1pm at the Goldmines Hotel, 49-57 Marong Road, Bendigo. Tickets are $10 and available on the door.
