SANDHURST A-grade netball coach Carol Cathcart isn’t reading anything into her side’s two comfortable home and away season wins over Stathfieldsaye.

The Dragons and Storm meet in Saturday night’s qualifying final at the QEO and Cathcart is expecting a much closer battle than the 17 and 11-goal victories Sandhurst had earlier this year.
“Strathfieldsaye is a little bit of an unknown really because we haven’t played them when they’ve been at full strength,’’ Cathcart said on Friday.
“We’re expecting a really good game. We’re playing good netball at the moment and so are they.”
Cathcart said Sandhurst has had a strong preparation for the finals.
“We played Eaglehawk last week, but prior to that we played three finalists Gisborne, Kangaroo Flat and Golden Square, so the draw has allowed us to come up against some quality teams,’’ Cathcart said.
“We’ve been able to assess what’s working well for us and work on areas that we haven’t quite nailed.”
Strathfieldsaye is in uncharted waters, having never played in an A-grade qualifying final.
The Storm enters the game on the back of a six-game winning streak. Their last defeat was against Sandhurst in round 12.
In Sunday’s elimination final, Gisborne will start hot favourite against Kangaroo Flat.
Gisborne thumped the Roos by 24 goals last Saturday and it’s hard to see Kangaroo Flat turning that result around in the space of seven days.
