A final team of 22 will be chosen when the squad of 27 trains on Wednesday night.
Geary’s versatility will be a huge plus for Victoria Country against the Victorian Amateur FL’s best.
During a run of five successive premiership wins, Geary often played on-ball, wing or half-back.
Premiership team-mates at Golden Square, Geary and Grant Weeks were named in the Victoria Country squad to be coached by Hawthorn great Peter Knights.
Back at Colbinabbin this season, Weeks starred in the Heathcote District Football League’s country championships win against Central Murray on the QEO.
Weeks played in a hat-trick of premierships at Golden Square and then spent two seasons at Rochester.
He kicked 627 goals from 2010 to 2014 and will play a key role for Victoria Country once again.
Another key player in the Victoria Country No.1 squad is Rochester’s Steven Stroobants.
A talented onballer or forward, Stroobants has played for Bendigo Pioneers, South Bendigo, Bendigo Bombers and Bendigo Gold.
AFL Central Victoria general manager Paul Hamilton said the Country versus Amateur clashes were a coup for Bendigo.
“The opportunity to see the best country players in the state play against the VAFA is exciting for the region. “
The Worksafe Victoria Country No.1 team plays the Victorian Amateurs at the QEO from 4pm.
