Someone will always believe something can be done in a better or more efficient way.
Councils and criticism often go hand-in-hand but so long as the criticism is constructive, then every council has the chance to improve.
Mayor Peter Cox appears to realise this saying he will take into account the community’s criticisms.
“Where we’re down on performance we’ll try to rectify that and see how we can improve,” he said.
One major issue the 400 residents revealed in the survey was a lack on consultation with the community.
If Cr Cox and his fellow councillors intend truly improving the overall direction of the city then they must be seen as listening more acutely to the community.
Consultation won’t necessarily result in a happy ending for everyone but it will improve resident’s satisfaction in being heard.
If nothing else, strong communication will always result in a better-informed society.
