The talented tumblers all train with Palmer’s Gymnastics and will test their skills against the nation’s best at this week’s Australian Gymnastics Championships.
Aislinn Lavin, Matisse Cugura, Lucy Harrison, Tahlia Sims, Chloe Swatton, Reuben Roessler, Taya Nichols, Latisha Painter and Eliza Sabaliauskas have been picked to compete at the titles.
Victorian State team tumbling coach, Emma Carmody from Palmer’s Gymnastics, said she was proud of the selected team.
“The entire Victorian tumbling state team, with the exception of one gymnast, comes from Palmer’s Gymnastics, which is an incredible effort from all our coaches and gymnasts,” she said.
“All our competing gymnasts are excited to put the sport and the city of Bendigo on the map at the national event.”
Gymnastics Victoria chief executive Jamie Parsons said the central Victorian based gym was doing a fantastic job in developing young athletes.
“The entire team at Gymnastics Victoria is committed to growing participation and the capacity of gymnastics clubs in regional Victoria,” he said.
“Alongside Jest Gymnastics and Belle Etudes, Palmer’s Gymnastics in Bendigo are providing outstanding programs and services to people of all ages and abilities, which can be demonstrated by their growing participation.”
The tumbling competition will begin on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a record 25 gymnasts from Palmer’s Gymnastics will next month compete at the Victorian Gymnastics Championships.
