Event organiser Ben Cook said the day was about raising funds for breast cancer research while supporting those currently afflicted with breast cancer and paying tribute to those who have passed away.
"People come with their families, they come with their loved ones, they come with their mates," he said
"Some set it as a challenge to achieve the run and others just come for the social aspect and to show their support and do the walk.
"It's all over by about 10.30 so people can still go about their Mother's Day and take mum out to lunch but have done something positive for their community in the morning."
Mr Cook said runners and walkers were encouraged to dress in pink, with a prize going to the best dressed.
"Everything from tutus to pink suits to animal costumes that are pink," he said.
"We have some little giveaways and bits and pieces for people who get into the spirit of it."
Participants can register at 7am on the day with the eight kilometre run beginning at 8am and the four kilometre walk/run starting at 9am.
