1893 Elizabeth (nee Sach) and Thomas Hogan with their family at their farm at Sandhill Lake near kerang. This photo includes five of their eight children; Will, Susie, Frank, Jim and Jack.Three children born later included Katherine who became Sister Norbeta, teaching English long term at St Mary's College, Bendigo. Elizabeth, the daughter of a German miner, lived in Eaglehawk. At the age of 14 she taught in a tent school in Pegleg Road. Elizabeth and Thomas Hogan are the grandparents of locals Nell McDougall, Alice Geary and Therese Costelloe and great-grandparents to Noelene Scales and Wilma McIntyre.
