The Firebirds looked like certainty's to win the game, but a spirited fightback by the Swifts saw them fightback from a seven goal deficit to level the game.
In their last ditch attempt to score the win, Thwaites took a shot in the final seconds to win the game, but it didn't connect.
At the final whistle, the scores were level at 47 goals apiece.
Thwaites finished the match with 18 goals, shooting at 82 per cent accuracy, which made her the most accurate goaler on court.
Kerang defender Julie Corletto also played a pivotal role for the Swifts in their final quarter fightback, grabbing some important intercepts.

Meanwhile the Melbourne Vixens have continued its winning ways, beating the Magic 51 to 48.
The Vixens next face the Thunderbirds on Saturday.
