But not Bendigo under-12B player Riley Dillon, who at the age of seven and in his first season of cricket achieved the feat last Friday night at California Gully Oval.
Riley claimed a hat-trick against Eaglehawk during a game in which he finished with figures of 4-3 off two overs.
The first two of his wickets in his hat-trick were caught, while the third was bowled.
As well as taking a hat-trick, Riley - in grade three at Golden Square Primary School - also batted well for the Goers in making 15 n.o. in his side’s 73-run win.
“He was registered to play T20 Blast this season, but the under-12 side was a bit short, so he went up and has blossomed since,” Riley’s father, Damian, said.
“It was a great night for him last week.”
