Bastian has been one of the best players in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League for the past seven years.
The best and fairest winner has been an important player for YCW in their premiership victories.
Now the sharp shooter has decided to take up a new challenge, playing in the Bendigo Football Netball League with the Storm.
Strathfieldsaye have also recruited Kangaroo Flat young gun Caitlyn Hamilton, South Bendigo defender Jodie Bouwmeester and Charlton’s Kate Burton.
A-grade coach Maleta Roberts said the new players would bring some maturity and experience to the club.
“Cara, Jodie and Kate are great team players that are definite leaders in their areas and already have helped guide those around them on and off the court,” she said.
“Caitlyn is quite young but she is a talented, accurate shooter.
“She is confident in her position which is a bonus for a young player and we are lucky to have her join us.”
With just over a month before the BFNL season begins, Roberts said their pre-season training had been going strongly.
“We have offered a bit of variety in our training so far and will continue to do so,” she said.
“The girls are a lot fitter compared to this time last year, so there will be a lot more focus on skills and court work.”
Roberts said there was excitement building at the club ahead of the beginning of the season.
She said the Storm was finalising its senior teams this week
Strathfieldsaye’s first game is against Sandhurst at the QEO on April 3.
