Ann has volunteed at the radio station for more than eight years after starting out with a five minute “what’s on” spot.
“I used to come in about once a month with my car club and talk about our events,” she said.
“I just continued on from that and am here about 20 hours a week.
“I really enjoy working with the staff.”
Ann, who drives a bright red 58 Morris Minor ute for fun, is Fresh FM’s community events co-ordinator as well as a receptionist.
“I have a little spot on Friday mornins talking about the community focus,” she said.
“It’s marvellous the amount of people you meet through that.
“All the differnet type of events (Bendigo) puts on is wonderful.
“I still go to a few events in the Morris Minor. I stands out a bit.”
Volunteering and radio goes through Ann’s family bloodlines.
“My aunty started at 3BO when John Wards was there, so I have a bit of interest in radio,” Ann said.
“My daughter also volunteers at the St Vincent’s store.
“We both really enjoy it.”
