Witnesses reported that the black and white feline had been stuck in the tree for up to three days before the dramatic rescue.
Bendigo CFA operations officer Craig Houlahan said the event was a relatively rare occurrence.
"Even though the public perception is that we're getting cats out of the trees all the time this is not actually the case," he said.
"We have only got probably two or three cats out of a tree and that's when they're in a stress condition and they're not able to make their way down, because generally within 24 hours a cat would get out of a tree on its own."
