The Spring Gully Primary School grade one student has been left devastated after someone stole his bike from the school's bike rack on Monday.
Will, 7, said the Giant animator bike was a present for his birthday in July.
"It was a birthday present from mum and dad," he said.
"I ride it to school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
"I want my bike back."
Mum Cara Smith said Will had taken his bike to school on Monday but unfortunately forgot to ride it home.
"He rode it to school on Monday like he always does, then he walked home Monday night and forgot that he'd rode it in," she said.
"Then he went to ride it home on Wednesday night and realised it wasn't there."
Mrs Smith said they bought Will the bike so he could ride about a kilometre from home to school.
"It’s been a lovely independence for him to be able to ride to school by himself," she said.
Mrs Smith said the school's principal put out an email to make sure someone hadn't put the bike away before she reported the bike stolen to police.
Leading Senior Constable Sally Dunlop of Bendigo police posted information about the missing bike, valued at $180, on the Bendigo Eyewatch Facebook page on Thursday.
She said the theft might have happened overnight Monday.
"If anyone has seen the bike, found the bike or may know where the bike is, please let us know," she said.
"We are hoping for an early Christmas miracle for the little fella."
Anyone with information about the stolen bike can phone Bendigo police on 5448 1300.
