A number of them have been busily planning, creating and putting the finishing touches on their displays since the Bendigo Advertiser, 3BOFM and the City of Greater Bendigo launched the Twinkle Twinkle Bendigo - Keeping Christmas Local campaign earlier this month.
The campaign aims to create a festive atmosphere in the lead up to Christmas, giving prizes to the best displays while encouraging central Victorians to shop locally.
Mobo Concept and Design, a gift shop on Bath Lane, has received a Christmas makeover thanks to owner Faye Pedri.
"The theme is Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and we have Santa parachuting in over ceramic houses with chimneys," she said.
"I've got snowflakes and a naughty and nice list strung up. I've changed the list a few times because parents want to put their children on the naughty list."
She encouraged other businesses to get on board with the Twinkle Twinkle campaign.
"It creates a bit of Christmas spirit around Bendigo," she said.
Businesses can enter one of two categories: small business (10 employees or less) and larger business (11 or more employees).
The Bendigo Advertiser will photograph every business that registers before December 11, and voting will be online at www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au from December 12-19.
The winner of each category will receive a media package valued at $3,000, including: an advertising package from the Bendigo Advertiser, valued at $1000 and a three-hour outside broadcast with 3BOFM, valued at $2000.
Winners will be announced on December 20.
Public voters will go into the draw to win one of five $100 gift vouchers to spend at the Bendigo Visitor Centre retail store or the Bendigo Art Gallery shop.
