More than 30 teams took part in Bendigo's first indoor carnival for All-Abilties teams on Sunday at Bendigo Major League Sports in Golden Square.
Four grades were played.
Bendigo was represented by four teams, of which most of the players were drawn from Axe Creek Cricket Club.
Coach of Axe Creek's teams and the Bendigo line-ups, Rob Fisher said the indoor carnival was a great success.
"Some of the players travelled a long way to be here," Fisher said.
"They were amazed by the facilities at Bendigo Major League, and the opportunity to play indoors.
"Wheelchair access to the courts was a huge plus."
Fisher said matches were extremely competitive.
"The main goal is to provide opportunities to play cricket."
North Geelong won the A-grade title.
Bendigo was the No.1 team in B-grade, while Ballarat and Footscray won C and D-grades respectively.
"The Bendigo team in A-grade also played really well," Fisher said.
"Bendigo's only loss was by eight runs to the evenutal winners, North Geelong."
The A-grade competition was played under standard indoor cricket rules. There were modified rules in the other grades.
Fisher said the focus for All-Abilities cricketers is back to outdoors when Axe Creek plays Moorabbin this Sunday in a Twenty20 match from 1pm at Champions IGA Oval in Longlea.
