WNBL champions of the past two years, Bendigo Spirit again withstood Townsville's fierce desire to win Saturday night's basketball clash at Bendigo Stadium.
After scores were locked on 68-all at full-time it was Spirit which fought on to clinch victory in overtime, 78-75.
Kelsey Griffin again cut through or over Townsville's defence to achieve a match-high 24 points.
Sara Blicavs 13, Kelly Wilson 12, and Belinda Snell 11, played supporting roles.
Best for Fire were Suzy Batkovic 17, Mia Newley 13, and Micaela Cocks 12.
Bendigo's consecutive championship wins were at home against Townsville.
