McGrory - a 2000 Olympic gold medallist - is the ambassador for The Great Alfred Bike Ride.
The 800km ride aims to raise money for emergency and trauma care at The Alfred and will take in some of the most challenging cycling routes in Victoria.
Starting in Nagambie this Sunday, riders will cycle through some of regional Victoria's most picturesque towns, including Mt Buller, Milawa, Falls Creek and Bright before arriving in Melbourne the following Saturday.
Proceeds from the ride will go towards the redevelopment of The Alfred's Emergency and Trauma Centre, which last year treated more than 6980 major trauma patients with life threatening injuries.
On average, 5200 cyclists require treatment at The Alfred each year.
"Riding in The Great Alfred Bike Ride is an opportunity to promote leadership and one of Australia's leading trauma hospitals," McGrory said.
