Haas won the 23rd edition of the Japan Cup (151.3km) in 4 hours 6.48 minutes.
Runner-up in a field of 79 inwas Norway's Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Central Victorian cycling stars and Drapac team-mates Lachlan Norris and Darren Lapthorne were 53rd and 54th at 5.51 minutes behind the race winner.
Norris is from Barkers Creek, and Lapthorne is based in Bendigo.
Highs for Australia included 16th and 17th placings for Steele van Hoff and Chris Sutton.
