Student representatives will meet with council representatives and community leaders to discuss the future of youth services in Bendigo.
The students will share their thoughts on what is most important to them.
Greater Bendigo Young Citizen of the Year Skye Kinder and Community Against Drugs Echuca founder Scott Beattie will talk to the students at the summit.
The summit was created as a result of City of Greater Bendigo's Youth Action Group meeting with young people from the community.
City of Greater Bendigo's young communities co-ordinator David Williamson said the summit would provide youth with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills.
"This is an opportunity for young people who are passionate about the community they live in to think about the things that matter to them," he said.
"It's about having a say and being listened to.
"It's about their unique perspective on what they think about life growing up in Greater Bendigo.
"They want to know what it is they can change for the better."
The summit is about making positive steps towards a better future for the youth of Bendigo.
"Young people not only have a right to have a say but also the responsibility," Mr Williamson said.
"The summit will enable young people to have their say and identify the important issues.
"They will then inform the broader community - their parents, school and peers - about the issues they identified."
He said the summit was also about teaching students about the processes of local government.
"We hope to encourage young people to develop greater awareness about government decision making," he said.
The summit will begin at 9.30am at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre.
