Natte Bealiba keeps flag aspirations alive

NATTE Bealiba’s Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football League premiership hopes are intact after proving too good for Newstead in their semi-final on Sunday.

The Swans led at every change in recording a 24-point victory, 12.17 (89) to 9.11 (65), at Princes Park.

After building a 23-point advantage at half-time, the Swans were able to keep the Steaders at bay for the remainder of the match.

Thomas Douglas, Stephen Ross (two goals), Chris Jardine, Lachlan Cameron, Nathan Ross and Zac Perez (three goals) were the best players for the Swans.

Natte Bealiba advances to a preliminary final against Carisbrook next Sunday at Princes Park.

Newstead was best served by Joel Smith, Daniel Christmas, Michael Dalrymple, Tom Ruggles, Jayden Bott and Bradley Richardson.

Adrian Conn kicked four of the Steaders’ nine goals.
